Your dedicated Company Counsel – on-demand and with priority
Sometimes having a legal counsel right by your side is the wisest choice. Rapid growth, tension with stakeholders or a risk of possible litigation or regulatory problems are all situations where hiring an on-board counsel is the most efficient and safest option. With our service, you’ll only pay for work done and not for downtime.
Your appointed part-time Company Counsel will help you with what you need and when you need it, without long-term or time intensive obligations. We’ll help you with a hands-on approach and guide you every step of the way. You’ll be our first priority at all times. Our service commitments start from one day a month, and depending on your service level you can terminate the contract even till the end of the current month.
You get these benefits
- Loyalty and dedication: You’ll get a dedicated legal counsel for your company. The Company Counsel will join your daily work routine and keep an eye on legal and ethical compliance to protect your company.
- Priority access: You’ll have a direct, priority connection with the Company Counsel at all times. Whenever you need help or advice, just call or send a message – day or night.
- Dedicated workdays: Depending on your service level, you get a free choice of dedicated workdays on the Company Counsel’s calendar. That means that on those days, the counsel will only work for you. Any scheduling conflicts will go your way. This is useful for large projects, team events or extensive board meetings.
- On-site presence: Depending on your service level, the Company Counsel will work on-site at your premises as needed. (*Helsinki region only; other regions upon availability.)
- Objectivity: An external legal expert can assess your legal and ethical risks objectively and with your company’s interests in mind. An outsourced Company Counsel will account for their legal advice more broadly than an internal employee would.
- Credibility: You can tell your customers, financiers and other stakeholders and publish on your website and on LinkedIn that you have an on-board legal counsel. This very often enhances your trustworthiness and credibility.
- Information flow: An experienced legal counsel will detect your company’s legal and ethical risks and report them straight to you. You won’t have to fear internal information blockages.
- Broad capability: The tasks of the Company Counsel depend on your circumstances. Normally, they range from daily tasks such as contract negotiation to staff management, legal risk management and dispute resolution.
- Top-level protection: If you want, the Company Counsel will join in on your board meetings as an advisor and secretary. (This is recommended for strong and efficient compliance.)
- Valuable partnership: The Company Counsel is an experienced company counsel whose skills extend well beyond legal tasks. The counsel will always be there to help you when you are managing and developing your business. You will receive professional input on critical business decisions.
- Cost predictability: You only pay for work done, not downtime. No out-of-pocket payments for sick days, vacations and leaves, training, insurance and health benefits, tools and devices, and other responsibilities that go with having an in-house legal counsel on payroll.
- Extensive discounts: You’re entitled to discounts on Varoen’s other services.
- Pause when needed: Depending on your service level, you can pause the service whenever you want. This is a great way to save when your company’s operations are on light duty during holidays.
- No fixed contracts: If you no longer need an on-board legal counsel, you can terminate the service whenever you want. Depending on the service level, the service ends immediately (until the end of the current month) or after a brief transition period (no longer than three months from the current month’s end).
- NEW BENEFIT Free staff meetings: Once a month, you can invite the Company Counsel to participate in your staff meeting so that your employees get visibility on the company’s legal risk management and can ask questions about things that interest them. This added benefit is free of charge, meaning that the staff meeting will not consume any contracted working hours. (*Participation remotely).
